The World of Warcraft Addiction, Is It a Concern?

World of Warcraft, commonly known as WOW, a Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game, which now has an estimated 10 Million Subscribers World Wide.

In this article I wanted to address the seriousness of addiction that comes with the game, some World of Warcraft players may say that they don't have a addiction to the game, which is true for some, but alot of players play for hours each day.

Maybe it's better that people play WOW instead of going out and doing meth or crack cocaine, but they do have similar qualites to addiction, that's for you to decide.
But the one pretty major concern is that mostly kids play the game, some as young as 9! And this makes me wander as in order to play the game, you have to have a credit card or buy a 60 day pass for $29.99 to play, so obviously these kids have to have their parents help them play.

If your thinking I am lying about kid's as low as 9 playing, I ain't, I'm not proud of this but I used to be a World of Warcraft addict myself, so the things being said I went through.

But fortunetly I got over the addiction after playing for only 5 months, after the 2nd month I could see that addiction was really kicking in, I usually woke up at 8am for work, worked from 9am-6pm, came home roughly 7pm, sometimes forgot to eat, play WOW from 7pm to about 2-4am and wake up for work at 8am.

I did this for almost 3 months, I wasn't working as hard at work as i was always tired, made lots of mistake, mainly it was the lack of sleep that got to me, and i was always feeling miserable.
So one day I came back from work, went to the login screen at WOW and just said to myself, just "F#ck it!" went out of the login screen, went to my control panel and deleted world of warcraft from my computer and never looked back, and things have been great!

But for you WOW Players, I am not trying to say not to play the game, because in all honestly I can't tell you to stop playing, that's your decision to make, not mine.

I remember a few years ago when Grand Theft Auto was the big talk about it being corrupting the kids, but the truth is I was playing GTA when i was a kid and i didn't get influenced by it, I think that's because all Grand Theft Auto games has a ending.
Then you stop playing, the problem with World of Warcraft is that it never ends, expansion packs are always coming out with new quests to complete.

So the World of Warcraft addiction may never end...

I have heard about this thought of thing before, but only with books and not many other products.

Get yourself involved in chat rooms and message boards if your looking for free quality traffic to your website/blog.

Chat rooms are simultaneous online conversations with multiple people at the same time and message boards are places where messages are posted usually involving a discussion on a particular topic to help each other, also used to promote websites or upcoming movies to create some buzz within the community.

I will be proving you with some chat rooms and message boards a little later on in this post, but first let me explain a few things, many of these sites have rules on what you can and cannot post on their site, please read their rules before posting if you don't want to be banned!

Some sites does not allow URL's to be placed, but the ones that do, people do one big mistake, they put something along these lines...

I suggest after picking a few of the chat rooms & message boards that fits your criteria, to at least post 1-3 times per week on message boards and try to chat at least once per week on chat rooms. You should also consider one other thing, is your business local? are you trying to attract local customers? Then you should consider looking for sites that concentrates on your particular location.

Subscriber Troubles

OK, So right now i have 31 Subscribers, 45 people signed up but 14 of them just haven't verified their email. So instead of having 45 subscribers, I have 31.

Even though i tell people that they have to verify their email after they sign up, but i guess some people forgot or just decide they don't want to subscribe.

Either way it's iritating, anyway, not a huge deal and i guess i should just stop bitching about it and be a Man LOL

YIPEE - I GOT SOME GOOD NEWS

YIPEE! Good news, well for me anyway. Back in March, i set a goal for myself to Have my Alexa Ranking Below 500k within 3 months, I'm happy to say that i accomplished my 1st Goal!
My Alexa Ranking right now is at 478,962.

Oh Dear! Now i have to aim for another Alexa Ranking goal, Hmmm i guess this time instead of setting goals for every 3 months, i'll do it every month.

I'll set my goal to, let's say 420k by the same time next month. That'll be my Goal. Wish me Luck!

Oh another thing, this has been on my mind all day long. This is about the contest i'm currently running, I totally forgot to set my goal for the contest, what i want to accomplish with it. I know that I wanted to increase my subscribers list, but i didn't think about how many subscribers i should aim for.

I know your supposed to set goals for contests, but this just didn't cross my mind.
So let me also set a goal for this aswell, so far i have 29 subscribers, at the end of the contest my goal is to have atleast 150 subscribers.

I wanted to talk about BlogAds.com which i found while searching for blog advertising methods, thought it looked interesting, so thought i should share you my find.

BlogAds is a Ad network similar to google adsense, but they target bloggers instead.



One thing i don't like about it is that you have to be sent an invitation from a BlogAds member, so you might have problems creating an account :(

Also that some of the Ads you can buy cost like $500-5,000 on average, that's only for 1 week.

It Ain't a SCAM! - Rich Jerk Ebook Review

I recently purchased the rich jerk ebook and found it interesting, i know i can't talk about what's in the ebook, so i'll try to be as honest as possible.

It's not a long Ebook, it's short with really good information, do you honesty want to read like a 500 paged Ebook, and at the end, you'll like... WTF?

I would suggest this Rich Jerk ebook really for Noobies on the Internet trying to make money, as i was reading the ebook i knew many of the things he was talking about, but i have been making money online for a while so that's understandable, i am not an expert but like to be considered average, at least.

The cost of the Ebook is only $9.95 which is a bargain, i like the fact it's such a good deal, don't you hate paying $49.95 - $149.95 on ebooks and they suck? This is not the case, you get a good product for the right price!

Traffic Report for April

OK, here is my traffic info from April, it won't be totally accurate as i started the statistics from April 11th, so I'm missing 11 days of data from April, so May's traffic info will be more accurate when i report on that.

But let's get back to April, here is the statistics...

Page Views - 2,272
Unique Visitors - 994
Page Views Per Visitor (Average) - 2.29

Just assume i did start the statistics from the beginning of the month, it'll be roughly 1,500 unique visitors, but i can't guarantee that, just an estimate.

Here is where i got my traffic from...
Seems that i got most of my traffic from entrecard.com and powerdropping.com.

I was surprised to see i got 23 visitors from stumbleupon, i know it's not a big number, but me thinking i was not going to receive any traffic from this source, i was happy.

I have gotten some traffic from the contest I'm running right now, not as great as expected, but it's a small contest, so it did well i guess. Next one will be a big one, so keep checking back on my site.

So for May, my goal is to receive 2,000 unique visitors.

I will be finding new ways of receiving traffic as the only thing that i really tried was entrecard.
